Overview

Escambrón is a shore-dive site in San Juan where a breakwater allows diving year-round, and it is widely used for training and beginner dives. Natural reef with caverns and swim-throughs sits alongside more than 200 artificial reef modules and an underwater park of columns, statues and benches. Sources differ on depth, from about 7 to 30 ft. Green turtles are reported as residents, with occasional manatees; treat the swim-throughs as overhead environments.[1][2][3][4]
